Overview

Monitoring your sources helps you understand your audience and grow your presence across platforms. You always know how your users react to your source, how they rate it, and what your competitors are doing.

In AppFollow, you can add and track both your own sources and the sources of your competitors. Read on to learn how to add sources by their name or URL.

To learn more about adding and monitoring your Competitor Sources, check out our article on Competitor Sources.

When you add a source, you can monitor:

  • Metadata and history
  • Versions history
  • Average rating
  • Stars history
  • Reviews
  • Developers replies
  • Reply to reviews
  • Reviews history
  • Likes/dislikes
  • Keywords positions and history
  • Rankings history
  • Featured apps/games
  • Sales metrics
  • ASO metrics

You can also archive sources to hide inactive ones from your dashboard without losing their historical data. This helps keep your workspace organized while preserving past performance insights.

If you have an Apple Arcade app, you can add the app through a direct link. Learn more in the next parts of this article: Add a Source by URL.
Please note that apps from Galaxy Store must be added using the URL and not the app name.

Add a Source by Name

  1. Select the Workspace where you want to add a new source from the top navigation panel in AppFollow.
  2. Click ➕ next to Sources in the left-hand navigation panel.

  3. Select the platform where you want to search for the source, or remain in the "Top platforms" tab to see the search results for all platforms at once.
  4. Type the name of your source in the search box.
  5. Click "Search".
  6. Browse through the results and click + Add source next to the source you want to start tracking.

If you need to track the same source in several Workspaces, you need to add it separately to each Workspace.

Add a Source by URL

If you couldn't find a source when searching for its name, you can add it using its URL.

  1. Once you have the URL from your platform, click ➕ next to Sources in the left-hand navigation panel.
  2. Paste the URL into the search bar.
  3. Click Search and Add source next to the source you want to start tracking.

Apple TV Apps

To add an Apple TV app, you need to type "appletv: [name of the app]" in the search field:

Amazon Appstore

Due to Amazon's restrictions on automated activities, the following functionalities are currently impacted: - Unable to parse reviews (occasional parsing of 1 page may occur but is unstable).
- Unable to parse ratings.
- Adding new Amazon products is not possible.

You can add any app or game from the Amazon store by keywords or permalink. This allows you to monitor app metadata changes and rankings. Monitoring ratings and reviews is currently limited for specific plans; please contact our Sales team for more information.

To start tracking an Amazon app or game in AppFollow:

  1. In Amazon, find the item you want to add and copy its URL;
  2. In AppFollow, select the Workspace where you want to add a new source from the top navigation panel in AppFollow;
  3. Click ➕ next to Sources in the left-hand navigation panel;
  4. Open the Amazon tab;
  5. Paste the item's URL into the search bar and click Search;
  6. Click Add source next to the item you want to start tracking.

We do not support tracking Amazon products at this time. If you’d like this feature, please upvote the request here: Amazon Products Feature Request.

I Can't Find My Source

Sometimes you can't find a source by typing its name. Here are some tips to keep in mind.

  1. The source you’re looking for has not been launched yet.
  2. The source is limited to certain countries or regions. Select a different country if the source is not available in the current country.
  3. AppFollow has its own search algorithms. This means the sequence of search results will not always match what you see on your iPhone, Android, or Windows device.
  4. Copy and paste the source's URL into the search field if you're certain that the source should be available.
