Steam: Reply to Reviews Connection

With Steam: Reply to Reviews Connection, you can monitor and reply to your Steam reviews directly from AppFollow.

Overview

To manage and reply to Steam reviews in AppFollow, you need to invite the AppFollow user to your Steamworks account and notify AppFollow to complete the setup.

Once the connection is completed, you can start managing and replying to your Steam reviews directly from AppFollow.

Step 1. Invite AppFollow user 

1. Open Steamworks and go to Users & Permissions → Manage Users.
2. Click Invite user.
3. Enter the AppFollow Steamworks invitation email: steam-invite-a@appfollow.io. Leave all permission checkboxes on this page blank (unchecked). 
   Note: Permissions will be granted in Step 3 for security. 
4. Send the invitation.

Wait until AppFollow accepts the invitation and you receive the confirmation email. The invitation process can take up to 24 hours.

Step 2: Confirm the invited user

1. In Steamworks, go to Users & Permissions → Manage Users.
2. Open the Awaiting Confirmation section, find the email steam-invite-a@appfollow.io and click Confirm.

Step 3: Add AppFollow to the group and grant permissions

1. In Steamworks, go to Users & Permissions → Manage Groups. 
   Note: Make sure you are in Manage Groups, not Manage Users.
    
2. Select the Application Group that contains the apps you want to connect.
   Important: If your game has DLCs or Expansions, you must ensure both the Base Game AppID AND all individual DLC/Expansion AppIDs are added to this group. If DLCs are missing, you will not be able to reply to their reviews.
    
3. Click Add a user to this group, and select steam-invite-a@appfollow.io and leave all permission checkboxes unchecked.
    
4. Check the box for "Edit App Metadata". This grants AppFollow the necessary access to publish your review replies.
    
5. Click Add user to save your changes.
    
6. After user is added to the group notify AppFollow to create a connection.
    

Notify AppFollow

1. In AppFollow, go to Integrations → Source connections from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. From the app picker, select your Steam game.
3. Click Link account on the Steam game card.
4. Click Notify AppFollow and wait for the confirmation to start replying.

Done!

Your Steam connection is now set up. You can start monitoring and replying to Steam reviews directly from AppFollow.
