Overview

Use the Reviews feed page to learn more about each individual Review you receive, respond to Reviews, and stay on top of interactions with your users. In this article, you’ll learn how to respond to a Review and how to streamline the process of communicating with your app’s users. To learn more about Review details and how this page is organized, check out the following article: Navigating the Reviews feed Page.

Reply to a Review

Set up a source connection with App Store Connect and the Google Play Console to start replying to reviews. Learn more about setting up integrations in our App Store Connect and Google Play Console source connection guides.

After you set up a source connection, the reply box in the Review card becomes active. To send a reply, start typing and then hit “Publish”.

Your replies appear in app stores after moderation, which takes up to 24 hours in Google Play and around 8-12 hours (in some cases up to 3 days) on the App Store.

Reviews with replies can be filtered by the Reply Statuses

Translate Your Reply

To make replying even easier, we’ve added a Translate button inside the reply box. With just one click, you can automatically translate your reply using Google Translate.

This feature works for:

  • Freshly generated replies (e.g. from AI or manual input)
  • Replies that are pending approval

Right now, our AI can generate replies in any language. But if you'd like to double-check the quality or translate the response into your own language, this quick workaround helps you do just that.

Click the Translate button on an AI-generated reply, or—if the reply is pending approval—you'll find the button next to the Edit and Delete options:

Edit a Reply

After you publish a reply, it’s possible to edit it. Use this feature to update your responses and keep the conversation going after a user edits their review.

To edit a reply, click on the pencil icon next to your previous message. The text box becomes active, and you can rewrite and publish your new reply.

The updated reply = new reply. AppFollow doesn't update them.

It is also a new reply from the App Store standpoint, as updating a reply uses the same request as creating a new one.

If the review was updated since the last reply, you will notice it by this yellow outline:

If you edit your reply (or send a new message after a review was updated), please make sure to update the reply text. If no changes are made to the content of your reply, the App Store considers that the reply wasn't changed and does not post an update. If you don't want to modify your message, you can make a minor change; for example, add a space in the middle of your message or change the punctuation.
