Overview
AppFollow now supports In-App Events for both the App Store and Google Play — special promotions or updates that app developers highlight to engage users. These events are especially common in gaming apps, but they may appear across other categories as well.
What’s included
For each event, we display:
- Event type (e.g., Special Event, New Season)
- Event name
- Event description
- Start and end dates
- Media (icons and images)
- Countries where the event is available
We started collecting in-app events in Q3 of 2025, so historical event data is not available.
Coming soon: You’ll also be able to view the list of countries where the event is available.
Where to find in-app events
My apps page
You’ll find them in the In-app events section, right under the main app information.
The Happening now tab shows currently active events.
The Ended tab allows you to view events that have already finished.
Not every app includes in-app events — they’re mostly used by gaming apps to promote content drops, seasonal features, or timed challenges.
Click on any event to view detailed information, including description, image, and exact schedule:
App Update Timeline
In-app events are also displayed directly on the App Update Timeline:
- Visible across countries (even if the event is not available in the selected country)
- Shows start/end dates, description, media, and active countries
- Includes a new In-App Events filter (multi-choice)
Availability
The in-app events feature is available on all AppFollow plans. On the Free plan, you’ll see when events exist, but detailed data is limited. Upgrade to unlock the full event data.
