Overview
The Review Anomaly Alert helps you detect unusual spikes in review topics without needing to constantly monitor incoming reviews.
It analyzes review activity in the background and flags when a specific topic—such as crashes, login issues, or payments—suddenly increases beyond its normal pattern. When this happens, AppFollow sends an alert with a summary of the issue and a link to review the related feedback in more detail.
This allows your team to quickly identify potential problems and take action, focusing on meaningful changes in user feedback rather than overall review volume.
This feature is currently in beta testing and available by invitation only.
How to Set Up
- Go to Alerts & Reports.
- Select Review Anomaly.
- Choose the app you want to monitor.
- Select your delivery method: Slack or Email.
- Click Save to activate the alert.
There are no filters or conditions to configure—once enabled, AppFollow automatically detects anomalies for you.
If you’re using Slack, make sure the AppFollow Slack bot is installed in the selected channel. Otherwise, alerts will not be delivered.
Delivery Timing
Review Anomaly Alerts are not real-time, as they depend on when app stores moderate, publish and update reviews:
- Google Play: ~24-hour delay
- App Store: ~48–72-hour delay
You’ll receive alerts shortly after enough data is available to detect a meaningful spike.
